About Us
We use video analytics to help our customers understand how people and vehicles use urban spaces.
Route Konnect began as part of the Telegraph STEM Awards. We entered the awards with an idea of how smart roads and versatile data could transform the mobility sector and came away with the award for the Atkins Design category.
Fast forward to 2023 and Route Konnect is going from strength to strength. We have created a product that uses video analytics to provide cross-camera movement understanding without the need for facial recognition or number plate recognition – a world first.
Our solution uses Computer-Vision and AI to automate previously manual processes, enabling traffic surveyors, local councils and property developers to gain vehicle and people movement understanding in a faster, more accurate way, from existing infrastructure and previously captured footage.
2022 was an exciting year for Route Konnect. We secured $1million pre-seed funding from investors (including Development Bank of Wales, Pi Labs, Plug & Play and SFC Capital), as well as some amazing Angel Investors. We were awarded Innovative Start Up of the Year by the Start Up Awards Wales, and we took part in the Zenzic CAM Scale Up Programme, giving us the opportunity to verify our solutions at pace.
2023 is equally exciting for us. We have recently doubled our employee numbers, and as our team grows, we will begin developing our next product, a solution for replacing inductive loops in traffic light systems.
