This month Route Konnect exhibited at the Move 2023 event at the ExCel Centre, London. The annual tech and mobility start up event focused on promoting and developing sustainable urban transport, and this year had over 4,500 attendees.
We were invited to attend by Zenzic, as alumni of their CAM Scale Up programme, and it was great to catch up with their representative whilst we were there and chat about our progress since we took part in the 2022 cohort.
We enjoyed chatting to visitors to our stand, telling them about how we use cross-camera video analytics to create vehicle and people movement understanding, and talking about our products which have the ability to produce smart junctions and eventually smart cities, helping to reduce carbon emissions.
And we attended some really interesting talks, including ‘The Future of Transport in UK Cities’ and ‘Mobility Living Labs, the latest in city transport tech trials’.
Our key takeaways from the event are:
- The Tech and Mobility Start-Up industry is a thriving eco-system, filled with innovators striving to make our cities a cleaner, greener space.
- There is a willingness in the sector to embrace AI, to create more efficient products, something Route Konnect offers with its computer-vision based movement analytics.
- Living Labs can be a proactive way to understand the cause and effect of policies set by a government. At Route Konnect we have first-hand experience of how useful Living Labs can be, thanks to our work with Smart Mobility Living Labs London which helped create our digital twin demo, along with a demonstration that our cross-camera algorithm can work in real-time.
- Transport is an important step in unlocking the economic opportunities of a city.
- There are lots of opportunities to partner with cities across the globe, to trial our UK based technology – we look forward to expanding to other parts of the world soon!
